v As an executive and expert on advertising
effectiveness, represented AT&T and AT&T Bell Labs Market Research
Council and Advertising Research Council in Advertising Research Foundation
(ARF) and contributed to its Copy Research Council and in advertising
effectiveness.
v Lectured on the topic of advertising effectiveness
and PR effectiveness in many forums on behalf of AT&T / AT&T Bell Labs
and also as an independent expert.
v Lectured on PR topics in many parts of USA, Canada,
Asia, Australia and NZ. He was active in PR Associations like Worldcom Group.
v Served on BOD and committees in IEEE and IEEE
Standards Board, as well as six IEEE professional societies, including IEEE
Systems, Man and Cybernetics (long name used to mean UX or Computer Human
Interface.
v Managed contracts with many civilian government
agencies in USA, including collaboration with DARPA on Human Computer
Interface.
v In AT&T, led many R&D projects in Computer
Telephony Integration (CTI), video conferencing (AT&T Videophone 2000),
Multi Point Conferencing, Distance Learning trials, which gave raise to the
recent webcam, Skype etc., with the integrated versions. Managed focus group
studies for Videophone 2000.
v Led the Audio and Video Business Unit of AT&T,
Business Unit. President of GE directly under its CEO Dr. Jack Welch in the
development of TV bandwidth compression for cable and Multi Point microwave
Distribution (MMDS) TV. One important aspect pioneered in GE was the focus
group studies and TV watcher experience studies to ensure perceived quality of
TV.
v Active in Bay-CHI and UX related events in Silicon
Valley.
v Serve on committees and also share the stage with
numerous Who's Who in Silicon Valley technology pioneers, executives, venture
capitalists, PEs and business leaders.
v Organized conferences and exhibits as the
Conference Chair of numerous international technologies and business conference
worldwide.
